What do I get with this program?
You'll receive:
- A 91-page fillable workbook. You'll find idioms that describe, idioms that show emotion, idioms that show action, a section on phrasal verbs, and a short, bonus section on American slang!
Each section, except for the bonus section, has 25 idioms for review. There is a resource page at the end which includes information on helpful books and websites to help improve your English.
Each section includes definitions, examples, and opportunities to practice each idiom by creating your own sentences.
The workbook also includes an idiom review to test your knowledge from Session I.
Note: The answers to the review will be available in the document section of the Facebook group. There is no idiom review for Session II. However, there is space at the end of the workbook to practice your sentence writing with the idioms. - An audio recording of all the idioms in the order they appear in the workbook. Not only does the audio recording include the pronunciation of each idiom, but it also includes the definitions.
- A bonus video tutorial on how to use idioms in a sentence and other useful tips.
- Bonus illustrations that highlight select idioms.
- Access to a private Facebook group for the program. Since this is a self-study program, the moderator will not be able to give individualized feedback. However, there is an option to receive individualized feedback on the optional homework assignment. The moderator will be available to answer questions on Mondays and Wednesdays.
The moderator will check the group periodically on these days to answer questions. Use the group to improve your understanding of idioms and vocabulary and to share information on idioms in general. - **This program is a digital download. You'll be downloading PDF's, audio, and video. Please make sure that you have enough memory on your device and that it's supported.

- This program will improve your English vocabulary because you'll be learning common idioms and phrases. Understanding how to use words correctly is important for communicating with native speakers.

- With all of these components combined, you'll improve your vocabulary and pronunciation of certain words, which is crucial to communicating successfully in English.
- Use the workbook and audio portion together. The audio recording lists the idioms in the order they appear in the workbook, so as you complete the workbook, you'll also be reviewing the audio pronunciation of each idiom in real time.
- Use the bonus video tutorial as a supplement to help you understand how to use the idioms in sentences and in conversation. Test your knowledge of the idioms you've learned with the idiom review at the end of Session I.
- Phonics is an important part of learning English. However, since there is an audio component, this will make it easier for you to understand the word.
- When I taught adult English learners, I often reviewed phonics using the Oxford Picture Dictionary, the Starfall website, and other learning tools. Starfall is a kids' website, but they have a great review of the English alphabet, which includes the pronunciation of vowels and consonants.
